The Founding of Bensalem Township.

Perhaps other parts of the U.S. know about neighboring Philadelphia and little else.  Those around Bensalem, PA know that their tradition goes back to the 17th century before there was a United States of America.  Our township seal states that the town was established in 1692, but as far back as 1670, the land was surveyed for residency on orders of the governor.

Joseph Growden was one of the original landowners and his legacy lives on even to this day.  Soon after he arrived, he built himself a beautiful residence on the northern part of his manor in Bensalem.  Just a bit later, more English colonists would immigrate into the township and influence it.

Yes, Bensalem, Pennsylvania is rich in history.  Today, when people need plumbing work done here or anywhere around Bucks and Montgomery counties they call Joe Canty.  Joe is the owner of All Drains Plumbing.  From all of the Canty family to all of you in our beautiful, historic area Merry Christmas and a Happy Holiday Season.

Is it Time to Replace your Bathroom Toilet?

Yes, it wears out just like anything else in your home.  Many of us limp along with a leaky or less than efficient toilet in our bathroom because we don’t spend a lot of time in there during the course of the day.  This time of year, you may have visitors who will be using that toilet during the holidays.  The problem will only get worse!

Here are some of the things that will be necessary in replacing that old bowl –

1.  Measure carefully from the back wall to the bolts that secure the bowl to the floor.
2.  Turn off the water supply and flush all of the water from the tank.
3.  Once you know that the flange is in good shape, you can install the new toilet.
4.  Check to see that the new toilet is NOT wobbling.

Does any of this sound like a DIY project?  For most of us, probably not!  If you live in Bucks County around the Bensalem area you need the expertise of a plumber you can trust.  That means the 20+ years of toilet replacement experience that you find from Joe Canty representing All Drains Plumbing.  Before the holiday rush give Joe a call at (484) 591-1862.

The Wrong Man for the Job.

Have you ever hired someone to do a job and it turned out to be a bad decision?  It has happened to just about all of us.  I have been in this industry for a long time, so I’ve seen what can happen when you have the wrong (person) or team for the job.  Plumbing is a tough job, and even something seemingly simple, like unclogging a drain, can require a pro.

A Contractor License is actually required for most plumbing jobs within the state of Pennsylvania.  In other words, only licensed plumbers should advertise work within the trade, though it’s easy to believe that a handyman is just as qualified. The licensing process requires experience, ongoing training, and examination, so you know a licensed contractor is truly cut out for the job!

I am proud to be licensed and insured.  Of course, that handyman down the street may charge a little less.  I have 22 years of experience…not some “friend of a friend”.  My name is Joe Canty.  I am a licensed plumber serving the greater Bensalem, PA area.  For all of your plumbing needs remember me by calling (484) 591-1862.

Dogs, Cats, and Water Heaters.

What do they all have in common?  Well, as much as we would like to live in denial, when the three particular things listed above turn 10-12 years of age they are elderly.  We will want to hold onto the first two as long as we can, of course.  In the case of your home’s water heater you need to exercise common sense and replace it.

Maybe your current water heater is –

1.  Making hissing or sizzling noises
2.  Leaking at the pressure relief valve
3.  The pipes are noticeably leaking water

When your water heater is about to “give up the ghost” call registered plumber Joe at All Drains Plumbing.  For over two decades, Joe Canty has served the plumbing repair and replacement needs of the residents of Bensalem and surrounding areas of Southeastern Pennsylvania.  Don’t fall for handyman scams!  Give Joe a call today at (484) 591-1862.
